Five Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Wedding Venue

The Pavilion - ceremonyFinding the dream wedding venue is number one on most brides’ to-do lists. But whether your heart is set on an idyllic country venue, grand town house or somewhere completely unique, don’t book your wedding venue before asking these five questions:
1.    How many people does the venue accommodate?
Checking a venue is big enough for your guests is top priority; remember to include your wedding photographer, wedding filmmaker, plus anyone else attending on the day, in your final count.
2.    Are other events scheduled the same day?
Some wedding locations, particularly larger venues, host multiple weddings on the same day. If you want the venue
to yourself, check their policy and how much it will cost.

3.    Are there any restrictions we should know about?
If you fancy ending your day with a romantic fireworks display or having a band that plays into the early hours, check what the venue allows before making arrangements.

4.     What is the venue’s cancellation policy?
Prior to booking, read the venue’s terms and conditions carefully. Make a note of any questions to ask before signing on the dotted line.

In the unfortunate event you need to postpone or cancel your wedding it’s important to know what to expect.
5.    What does the rental fee include?

Check exactly what the rental fee covers and what facilities for example, overnight accommodation and/or on-site leisure facilities - guests will have access to.
