The Pavilion at Lane End

Five Tips to Find Your Perfect Wedding Photographer

Your wedding photographs are the kind of keepsake you will treasure for years to come.

Having hosted hundreds of weddings at The Pavilion wedding venue we have gained valuable insight into the world of wedding photography.

Alongside a beautiful countryside backdrop for wedding and engagement pictures, we offer four hours of photography as part of our exclusive Diamond wedding package - assuring couples of a picture perfect wedding album.

All photography is expertly delivered by our recommended local wedding photographer Heni Fourie Photography. To see samples of Heni's work take a look here - www.henifouriephotography.co.uk

If you're looking for a professional photographer to capture your special day, here are The Pavilion's top five tips:

Venue's recommendation: If you have selected your venue, ask your wedding co-ordinator about their recommended wedding photographers. Always check whether this is an advertising arrangement or because they genuinely like their work!

Friends and family: Ask friends and family who have recently got married whether they would recommend their wedding photographer.

As well as seeing if you like their photography style, ask questions about the photographer's approach - were they friendly and accommodating on the day? Did they mix well with guests?

Web search: searching online for a wedding photographer can feel overwhelming.

Narrow down your search by entering the name of your venue and 'wedding photos'. This should return images of real life weddings that have been shot at your location.

A photographer who is familiar with your venue will know the prettiest viewpoints and positions to get close to the action without being intrusive.

Follow your photographer: Once you have a handful of photographers in mind, like their Facebook page and follow them on Twitter. This will allow you to see their latest work, find out about special deals and view client feedback - good and bad.

Pre-wedding shoot: Consider the try-before-you-buy approach. A good way to test-run a photographer you like is to book an engagement shoot. You might be able to make some savings too.

Heni says: "I frequently offer couples engagement shoots for a reduced price and offer to credit it against the wedding package.

See examples of recent engagement shoots on the official Heni Fourie Photography blog.

"Engagement shoots are also a really good way for couples to get to know the photographer, how they work and gauge the quality of their final pictures."
