Outdoor Weddings Rise 60 Per Cent, Reports Pavilion
Demand for outdoor weddings has increased by an average of 60 percent every year, reports The Pavilion at Lane End.
The Pavilion is one of the only wedding venues in Buckinghamshire licensed to host outdoor ceremonies.
Its purpose-built Garden Gazebo is ideal for outdoor weddings because it is situated on the edge of a large terrace.
This offers direct access to the wedding reception room which provides a convenient indoor option in case of unpredicted rain.
Despite being only 30 miles from central London, the venue is set in 26 acres of beautiful English countryside with peaceful surroundings making it perfect for outdoor countryside weddings.
Regardless of UK legislation and restrictions on performing ceremonies outdoors, The Pavilion successfully applied in 2008 to host outdoor wedding ceremonies.
In the four years since The Pavilion’s Garden Gazebo has been licensed for outdoor ceremonies it has experienced a dramatic upsurge in wedding enquiries.
Sales and Marketing Manager Heni Fourie said: “Applying for an outdoor wedding licence was one of the best things we could have done.
“Wedding enquiries in general have increased dramatically and demand for outdoor ceremonies far outweighs requests for indoor ceremonies.
“The facility to provide an indoor alternative while maintaining an outdoor feel allows us to give the bride what she wants even if the weather is inclement.”
Outdoor wedding ceremonies can be any size, requiring the right facilities to include all the guests and make everyone feel part of the ceremony.
The Pavilion’s Garden Gazebo is ideal for both small and large outdoor ceremonies because it offers the following facilities:
• A spacious terrace with seating for up to 130 guests in a theatre layout; chairs can easily be removed to create an intimate setting for smaller wedding ceremonies
• PA sound system in the Garden Gazebo to accommodate larger ceremonies
• Three parasols to protect guests against bright sunlight
• Private terrace for celebratory welcome drinks following the ceremony
• Direct access from the terrace to the main function room for a formal wedding breakfast; indoor ceremonies can be held inside the main room in case of inclement weather conditions
The Pavilion at Lane End Conference Centre is also a popular conference venue, offering one main conference room and three dedicated break-out rooms, a private registration foyer and an on-site kitchen for food-related team building activities.
“The self-contained nature of The Pavilion makes it perfect for one day conferences, allowing a client to use the building exclusively without external interruptions,” said Mr Fourie.
“The Pavilion can accommodate up to 130 guests for banquets or 150 in the theatre layout. There is direct vehicle access into the main room which makes it the perfect venue for car launches.”
The close proximity of the grounds means The Pavilion is also a popular choice for corporate team building events and family fun days.
The venue offers a variety of leisure and sports facilities, including five-a-side-football, basketball, tennis, golf, beach volleyball and an indoor games facility.
All the activities are free of charge for guests. Equipment such as tennis racquets, footballs and golf clubs, are provided by the venue.
The Pavilion’s large terrace is equipped with facilities to host barbeques or hog roasts and formal dinners can be catered for inside the main room.
The Pavilion is one of five distinct venues at Lane End Conference Centre which has been privately owned since 1969.
